Kiira Schmidt Carper is multi-hyphenated artist and educator whose professional career is expansive and full of joy. As a performer in the Broadway companies of Anything Goes, Follies, Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, Kiira has worked alongside theater giants such as Chita Rivera, Joel Grey, Bernadette Peters, Stephen Sondheim, Kathleen Marshall, Sutton Foster, Josh Bergasse, Randy Skinner, Francesca Zambello, and more. Nationally, Kiira toured with Fame, Crazy for You and A Chorus Line. Internationally she's performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Broadway Asia's Real to Reel in both Edinburgh, Scotland and Beijing, China, and most recently in the renowned open-air festival on the Danube River, Linzer Klangwolke 2023 in Linz, Austria, which was attended by 100,000 spectators and live-streamed world-wide. Her own choreography has been described as “intricately detailed, endlessly inventive”, and “vibrant” and as an educator, she works with students of all ages and levels, worldwide, and across multiple musical theater and dance platforms.

n addition to her own choreographic projects and productions, Kiira has had the great honor of recreating the work of Jerome Robbins in West Side Story 
for Opera Australia in Sydney; Teatro Lirico in Sardinia, Italy; The Lyric Opera of Chicago; The Houston Grand Opera; Barrington Stage; The North Carolina Theater; The Fulton Theater; and WSS 50th Anniversary flash mob in Times Square, NYC in 2011. 
 
Kiira is currently an Assistant Professor and Co-Head of Musical Theater at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.
